Water Damage Restoration
We view our homes and businesses as safe places that keep us warm, protect us from the elements, and help us build our lives. That’s why it can be so jarring when floodwaters or a burst pipe upend our stability. Even a leaky dishwasher or water heater can set off a cascade of expensive—and hazardous—water damage-related problems that only become more severe if left untreated.
If there’s water in your home or business, minutes matter. Every passing moment increases the extent of the damage and the cost and time associated with restoration. At Rapid Restoration & Remodel, LLC, we respond to every call immediately—24 hours a day, 7 days a week—to help you keep losses to a minimum.
We know that your home or business is more than just a structure. The emotional and psychological toll of water damage can be just as serious as the damage itself. Our promise to our customers is to restore their property not only with professionalism and reliability but also compassion and respect.

Our Water Damage Clean Up Process
Every property owner dreads coming down the stairs to see a flooded basement; however, especially in a place as wet as Portland, water damage isn’t always so obvious. If you notice stained or swollen walls or flooring, a musty or moldy smell, or have had a leak or overflow, you should have your property assessed for water damage immediately.
Assessment
Following a water event, our experts will identify all aspects of water damage―both visible and invisible. Though they may look solid, most construction materials are porous and will absorb water that then needs to be removed.
We combine decades of experience with advanced moisture detectors and hygrometers to ensure that we uncover all the moisture in your house. We’ll closely examine your walls and flooring to see if surface layers need to be removed to address water in the underlying structure. When assessing potential damage, our process looks at both the extent of moisture penetration as well as the presence of any contaminants from sewage or other sources.
Throughout the assessment stage, we make it a priority to explain the process to homeowners so that they understand their options moving forward and what they should expect.
If we find that your property needs drying and restoration, we’ll pack out and store any belongings, secure your property against additional moisture, and set up any other necessary fences and barriers to make sure that your property is safe.
Treatment
We then begin removing all moisture using state-of-the-art equipment like powerful water pumps and industrial wet/dry vacuums. We own all of our equipment, so there is never any waiting for rentals to become available or be delivered. And because of our comprehensive damage assessment, we’ll always deploy the right strategy for your unique situation.
Removing the water is only part of the equation, however. Since seemingly dry areas will retain significant moisture even after we have taken care of the excess water, it is essential to fully dry all materials in order to prevent damage from continuing to spread.
To accomplish this, we use a combination of fans, air movers, and dehumidifiers to dry your entire home and stop any swelling from occurring after the fact. We’ll continue to measure moisture levels throughout the drying process to make sure that every last drop of water has been accounted for.
Finally, we clean and restore your walls, floors, furniture, and possessions. This involves disinfecting and deodorizing as well as mold remediation, as the effects of water damage can lead to serious sanitation hazards. We’ll strive to recover as many of your possessions and construction materials as possible.
At the end of it all, you’ll be able to return to a home or business that is clean, sanitary, and, most important, dry. Because we are a full-service restoration and remodeling service, we are the only contractor you’ll need to work with for your entire water damage remodel project, saving you hassle and expense as you get your life back on track.
Common Causes of Water Damage
Frozen or Cracked Pipes
Cold winter temperatures can freeze the water in pipes, causing it to expand and crack the pipes. When water begins to run again, the results can be disastrous. Not only will we fix any damage caused by frozen pipes, we’ll also help you prevent your pipes from freezing again in the future.
Sewage damage
Few property issues can inspire terror quite like those involving sewage, and with good reason. Backed up or broken sewer pipes are every bit as damaging as any other water leak, but also bring additional serious health hazards—not to mention the offensive smell. We have the experience and knowledge of sewer pipe issues to make sure that everything is clean and decontaminated when you return to your property.
The Dangers of Leaving Water Damage Untreated
Whether you’re dealing with flood damage, a burst pipe, storm damage, overflow from a sink or toilet, or a leaky appliance like a refrigerator, water heater, dishwasher, or washing machine, even apparently minor water issues can balloon into expensive problems if allowed to go untreated.
Water can compromise your property’s wood frame in as little as 24 hours. Rusted metal, stripped laminate, and damaged electrical components can all dramatically impact your home or business’ ability to function safely. Two days of water exposure are often enough to require completely new walls or flooring.
It doesn’t stop there, however. Molds, mildew, and bacteria can create severe health risks, even more so for those who have allergies and asthma.
And, of course, the longer that damage is allowed to go unchecked, the more it will cost when you ultimately fix it. Relatively inexpensive problems can grow into truly massive headaches in a surprisingly short amount of time.
